Hello all,

Went off the rails a bit, back onto it. Had an injury, stuffed my RH TFL (Tensor Facisa Latae)

On 9 July I was 103.9kg. Again with the Couch to 5k program.

For 8 weeks I again went on WW Smart Points and dropped 10kg in about 7 weeks. Started running again. Running has progressed nicely and last weekend I did a 10k in 58:19 (however it was actually a 10.2k event.....the 10k split was 57:20). Miles off any PB but its a start. Today I am 94kg. Overall goal is focused on BF % - am now 24%, trying to get down to at least 13-15. Based on my calcs, allowing for a bit of muscle loss looking at getting down to at least 80kg.

I have now switched over to a diet that meets the needs of endurance athletes (even amateurs lol). Basically eat only to resolve hunger, with a preference for carbs and nil junk. Weight loss won't be that fast now, but a conservative approach preserves muscle mass so in essence you will have less total weight to lose before you hit a goal BF%.

Next event is a 10K on 9 October, followed by a half marathon in mid November.

Hello all

Just to update

3 weeks away from the Orange Half Marathon. Weight is about 90kg, last weekend long run was 26.8km. Looking to do a steady half in 6:00/km, or 2:06-2:07 total time. In April doing Canberra half marathon, aim is just to finish it, running the whole way.

good luck mate , hopefully come April it'll be a bit cooler too , went for six kilometer run after the gym this morning around a small lake near where I live , even at 9-00 am it was around the 27 c mark , not hot by Australian standards but still warmish .

Well the Canberra Marathon was shelved, as I got to the 19km mark of the Orange half and thought 'do I really need to do ths all over again??'. The very hot weather stuffed about with the training too. So I did the half in Canberra - my GPS watch logged a 21.1k time of 2:03:42 but the race itself was 400m longer so I officially got 2:06:19.

Since then my training has improved. Yesterday evening I recorded my fastest time at Runners Club Wednesday afternoon handicap since 2014. Covered 2.87k in 13:54.

I'm in two minds at the moment of what I'll do this year. Either try and match my 2012 PB time for the Half Marathon (1:45:07), or break the 4hr mark in the full marathon at Blackmores Sydney Running Festival in September. It sort of comes down to my next race. If I can break my recent 10k PB at Bathurst 10k in May I'll do the full. Else I'll do the half.

This is the health and fitness section of the forum. I think you'll find the 'WTF are you talking about' section elsewhere.
