getting a trans service every 12 months is what i would say, its a good preventative measure so the trans has a nice long life.

the VS owners manual says you should change the fluid every 80,000km's i'd probably do it at 40km at the most however

According to Gergory's, you change it 90k, but under extreme conditions like short or long distance driving, stop start situations it recommends 40k service. So I would go for 40k service.

thats fairly extreme, do you drop the pan and do a service refill, or the full $200 flush job????

pul the dipstick out and wipe it on a white piece of paper to see it's real colour, i though mine was good until the guy at the trans shop did that and showed me how dirty it really was
