Hey guys just wondering if anyone can help me out....? I have a 04 vz sv6 with transmission problems. When I select drive its like my car is in neutral and when I select reverse same thing. my car has only done 93,000 klms. Mind u I serviced trannie about 5 months ago Has anyone had same problem?
I had exactly the same problem and was stuck in my works car park for about 3 hours, waiting for a family member as my NRMA membership payment didn't come out . Either way, i ended up getting the transmission serviced and then a new radiator (as the tranny cooler is on the radiator, which was blocked) and then the issues went away completely for about.. 2 weeks.. then they've come back.. i can now drive my car ok, but i can't reverse on any hills (just revs revs). First thing most other people suggest, check fluid levels.
Check your fluids, if they are at the correct level there is a good chance your tranny oil pump has failed. This just happened to me a month ago. $2500 for a rebuild. Also these gearboxes are prove to losing reverse altogether, there is quite a bit of info about this issue on the net.
