Guys I am having problems with my auto in my VT it is holding in 3rd and will not shift to 4th, however if I get off the gas it will shift to 4th put as soon as I just touch the gas it changes back to third. :bang:

Any ideas of what it could be? Thanks.

take it and get it serviced at a proper auto place...sounds like the bands are loose and need to be tightened...plus a oil and filter change on the auto wouldnt hurt anyway

It's down there at the moment. They think it just needs a good service and the changes are good, so they do not think the bands need to be done.

They are going to take it step by step and see what works.

I thought you dont have to tighten the bands on electronically controlled trans? From memory the early 4L60 which is in VN-VP would need it as they are hydramatic.
