hey all today decided to go to my mechanic to change my fuel filter cause i never had the tool that takes the connectors off the fuel lines and didnt want to risk breaking them i hadent change fuel filter for 5 yrs so old one had dirt build up in it, anyway while he did that job i told him if he could service my transmission aswell cause i hadent done that either in 5 yrs so he did that took pan off cleaned it put new gasket on and changed tranny filter aswell and topped up with oil also, he charged me $120 to put my fuel filter on which i had gotten and the tranny service which filters and gaskets were his aswell as topping up with 5 lt of tranny oil, did he over charge me or i got a good price???
its a good price tranny kit was prolly 30 and the fluid was prolly 40 the rest labour cant whinge there
its a semi circle plastic thing which u push on the fuel connector and pushes tabs in to release fuel filter with hands its pretty hard to push in and if u use pliers or multi grip u will break the connector and u cant actualy change the connector u have to change the whole fuel line and fork out big buks for $16 on this set its not worth the risk they sell em at supercheap.
I have a picture of the tool you are talking about on this thread I wrote about changing the fuel injectors: http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/vt-vx-holden-commodore-1997-2002/93638-howto-replacing-fuel-injectors-cleaning-plenum-chamber-vt-commodore.html I changed the fuel filter on my VT about 12 months ago, and I didn't use any special tool at the time though...
