Hi all, since Ive bought my VZ Lumina when i fill it up i get on the Dist to Empty display 750-780kms. i had to take the battery out the other day and now its says 630, but when i drive the 90kms trip home, it only uses about 40kms, does any one know why this is?

It's an average based on your speed to date, so it's never 100% accurate and shouldn't be relied upon. What's your average speed and fuel/100k's showing? Is that roughly right?

I beleive that there is a calibration avaialbe for the VZ from your local dealer. Make sure you cancel as many things out yourself before taking it there because if they cant fault it you will be charged the labour. HOWEVER i know there is a calibration available for VY's just gotta double check VZ call your local dealer and ask. If its a calibration and your car is still in warranty it should be done free.
Also make sure you mention you took your battery out because it may need the computer reset. Also try reseting the Trip computer buy holding down the up and down arrows at the same time until it beeps.

if you disconnected the battery it resets all the dash averages built up, it will start working out after a few thousand km when it works out your driving habits, its all to be expected...

i dont think it will reset the fuel trims as i think that is stored in the ecu, cause you can use the scan tool the reset those parameters
