just wondering what wires are needed for the trip computer to be working in a vs clubsport auto before today it has always worked... but through my aggressive fiddling with electrics in an attempt to install a speedo corrector i must have knocked a connection that controls the trip computer. just wondering what coloured wires i should be testing....according to the wiring diagram i have a yellow wire with black stripe controls the trip computer http://www.memcals.com/pdf/VSV8 Manual Wiring Diagram.pdf can some one else confirm this with me??? where should i be looking for loose connections because i find it hard to believe that that one wire controls the odometer, fuel consumption gauge and trip computer all at once... any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance
sorry forgot to mention that nothing shows up on the three little displays underneath the tacho and speedo....its just blank...but it worked before haha
have you got the small white plug, pluged in the buttom of the speedo if you take the fuse cover off and look up to where the speedo is you will see if its pluged in or not if its not im not relly sure ( iv put trip computers in all of my vn-vs iv owned and thats the only thing that had me stuffed when i did the frist 1)
yeah that plug is definately in!! 88green VN what do you mean by the 4th plug how would i go about testing the orange white wire im sorry im quite new at auto electrics....i wish i new more!!!! thanks
The 4th plug - goes in the bottom of the cluster. The orange/white and black/white power the trip computer up. Find out if you have power at the main plug for the dash loom. If yes go to the 4th plug and see if you have power there.
your all going to laugh but it turned out to be a fuse when it first happened i checked the fuse and it was good then i discovered that the 4th plug was out...so i plugged it back in thinking that it would fix the problem haha then doing that must have blown the fuse!!! quite embarassing...glad it was something small!
