Did you graph the L3 loom into your L1/L2 loom or just replace the whole loom? If you replaced the whole loom (swaped them) then that is where half your problem is. The L3 loom needs to graphed into the L1/L2 loom. The plugs on the L3 loom you need are the fourth one that plugs into the cluster and the one that goes to the switch block (mode, set, etc.). It is a bit hard to explain the plug near the ecu but it is a a 6 or 8 pin plug and it has a black and yellow wire in it. This needs to be connected to the black/yellow wire that goes to the cluster.

This post on page one has the best descriptins around for how to do this and where things go. Have you followed this at all and if so check over it again for anything you may have missed.

If your run the ignision on without the cluster in it will trigger an air bag fault. Not sure if clearing the codes by disconnecting the battery works - I thing you need to get it cleared my a tech 2 type tool.

Ok, I still have an issue. I put the V8 Lvl 3 cluster in on the weekend and changed the LCD screens over so my original KMs are in the V8 cluster now. But I still have the old problem that I had with the other cluster. The fuel light comes on and the instant fuel is not reading, gauge works fine though. But now the chime works too. The black and yellow wire is hooked up but I'm not getting an instant fuel reading at all and the fuel light comes on after I start to drive for a little bit. Is there another wire that also is needed to control the instant fuel I'm thinking that might not be connected properly or at all. I have checked all the wiring though and it seems fine.

If your not getting instant fuel readouts when driving then the ECU signal is not getting to the trip computer. Do you have a VR/VS trip coputer in the cluster? Low fuel and over speed where changed between the VP and VR

Check the PCB on the back of the cluster for broken tracks. If you swaped over the trip computer from a V6 cluster to a V8 cluster then you may have "moved" the problem as such. Try the other trip computer in the car. If your not sure what the trip computer is out of it can have a date sticker on the metal case or you can identify the number on the main chip in side
