So my first what the about my new car...

The triple window trip computer left an right windows don't change any more. I thought they were meant to show avg speed and avg fuel but they stuck on inst fuel and range and won't change at all on any menu.

I've tried resetting the config but they're still not changing.

    Thoughts anyone?

    Cheers!

Huh? The problem is the outside windows in the triple window trip computer wont change from inst fuel on the left and range on the right.

    The instrument cluster is fine!

So when you cycle through the displays using the trip button on the steering wheel, they don't switch to average fuel and amount of fuel used when the main screen is showing the trip meter?

And they still work even though they won't change modes? As in the instantaneous fuel changes and the range decreases, so the two outer windows aren't frozen completely?

Sounds like there is probably a fault with the software in the cluster itself. Given your car is a Series II, it should still be under warranty.

Talk to your dealer... They'll be able to update (i.e reload) the software in it, and if that doesn't fix it, then give you a new cluster.

Yup that's exactly it. Still works, just the outside windows won't change at all.

I though about maybe a battery disconnect to reset fully.

Failing that, dealer is the only option I guess. Definitely under manufacturer's warranty, until 2017 actually :)

No the left and right windows are meant to alternate inst fuel, avg fuel, avg speed and range.

The windows are not changed in the config menu. They also do not cycle automatically through the various options.

They are cycled by pushing the trip computer button. Depending on where in the cycle you are, it can take more than one push to start the cycle. If stable, it usually takes a minmum of two pushes to start cycling, but it can be about four I think if you have the speed alert in the central window.

Have you just sat there pushing the trip computer button at least six times to see what happens?

i assume you have already tried pressing the trip buttom several times- Maybe the trip button is faulty, does it still cycle the centre window ?
Either way i'd say Dealer warranty.

No cause I'm a complete moron with no idea! Lol

Of course I have. I know how it works, well how it's meant to work. The centre window is fine. The other two are also ok and work but just don't cycle. They're stuck on inst fuel on the left and range on the right but both are working (ie updating). Just not cycling through with the trip button.

Damn. Saw the thread title and was hoping you had the same problem as me. VE Berlina. The left and right windows don't show up on startup. A few presses of the menu button, and not just one or two, and they come back. So screens work. Buttons work. Next?
