Agreed. I'll get it dirty soon, just got to organise a few mates and we'll head out for some fun. Or I could just drive it on the job site tomorrow, that way it'll be brown by the end of the day cos this place I'm at now is a bog hole.

I went for a bit of a drive in the mountains today in search of some snow but the road I was going to take was closed. I did see a big bunch of cars heading in the same direction but because I'm a noob with next to no gear I didn't end up jumping on the end of them. So I just cruised around some of the more easy tracks. I found a hill decent which was pretty cool and kinda hairy for a first timer but I'm alive!

Here's a pic with a bit of mud on the tyres lol

Went for a bit of a wheel with some mates over the weekend. I'll put up some more pics when I get them.

We went to Deua National Park and stayed at one of the campsites over night. We didn't do a great deal of driving but we did go to Dry Creek (which isn't very dry), across it and headed up Merricumbene Fire Trail. I've now worked out that I need to spend a few grand on my car. I need some rock slider bars as I bent the factory alloy sidesteps, a 2 inch lift, snorkel, transfer case and gearbox bash plates, compressor and steel wheels. All in all for a reasonably stock rig it handled the climbs very well and at no point was I ever worried about not making it.

Good on you for getting it out there :) some solid sliders should help you out, if you get more serious, get some H/T's or A/T's AND some (33?) M/T's so you can have silent driving in town and serious traction off road :) ends up cheaper in the long run, but depends how often you feel the need to go off-road without notice or how many times a week/month. Lift would be my priority as it will keep your bash guards from having to be used as much :)

First water crossing. There's something unnerving about intentionally driving into a river for the first time. I had to take the easy shallow line as I don't have a snorkel but a mate in his Triton went first and straight across had water lapping at the leading edge of the bonnet
