Looks very clean, I imagine it would be a bit different to drive than the Statesman

How many kms?

Picked it up with just on 57,000 on the clock. It's a May 2011 build so its just short of 2 years old.

Oh yea, it's actually smooth on the roads rather than rough as guts. The missus loves it! She told me she nudged a gutter yesterday and I just shrugged and said "eh, that's what it's supposed to do!"

I would Highly recommend getting lockers installed.

For what I intend on using it for its probably an expense that'll go to waste. Don't get me wrong, it would be awesome but I can't justify it.

Added a few extras in the mods list... black steel wheels and braided brake lines with slotted discs. That's the one thing I miss about the Statesman, the fact that when you put your foot on the brake it was nice and firm and you knew it would pull up in an instant if you wanted to.

You're all going to have to wait for a day or two for interior shots, I ended up doing more work than I expected today and once again the missus has the car at work.

If your going down that thought pattern you wouldn't want to waste your money on a winch bar and winch (get a normal bar). You wouldn't want to be putting such a nice car into a situation where a winch is required.

A forby with a lokka in the front makes the biggest difference than any other modifaction other than 10000000 inch's of lift.

Not sure if it will work but you may want to look into a e-lokka if you are able to use one. They are about $600. LOKKA - Automatic Differential Locker

However you may need to convert to manual locking front hubs.

Food for thought :)

I haven't needed lockers yet, and I do some pretty extreme stuff. I would probably use a winch before lockers, even though I don't have a winch yet either. The times I have needed recovering, a locker wouldn't have helped anyway.

It's all personal choice, the general theme with the 4WD world is to build your vehicle (I refuse to call it a truck) with all the gear regardless of whether you need it all or not. I go the other way, I drive the car to it's limit, then replace/modify/upgrade the parts that let me down so I can do it next time. The balance for my car seemed to be 3" lift and 31" tyres, it went well, but I had clearance issues, so I went 33" tyres and broke diffs. Then you all know the next step from there.

The way I look at it is to build the car to do what YOU want it to do and not have a car with all the fruit and be a shiny tree in the orchard to show off to all your mates. I might get some smart comments at the start of a trip, but my car is one of the few that tackle and make the harder lines. No lockers, no winch, no fancy roofrack with an awning hanging off it. It's built for a purpose not for a pissing contest.

Having said that, I will be getting a winch soon as I hate relying on others when I get stuck. And the places I do get stuck, very few could get to me anyway.

I finally parked it in my garage for the first time tonight and there's plenty of clearance. I was worried that with the angle of my driveway it might not fit but there's at least enough room for a 5 inch lift lol.

I took a few interior pics tonight but because it was dark in the garage they turned out crap so here's one of the motor instead. There's plenty of room for a winch control box and dual battery if I go that way.

While I was at it I checked the air filter and it was bloody filthy! So it's getting a hit with the air compressor and I'll buy a K&N and clean it regularly.

K&N filter is on the way. I hit the old one with the air compressor today to clean it up a bit until the new one goes in. Also debadge the D-ID and GLS badges today. There was a little bit if a difference with the paint but its hardly noticeable. Next time I've got a few days off work it's getting a clay bar and protection treatment. I would have done it this weekend but I've run out of time. Anyway, here's a few pics of the interior.

Well at least you sold the stato for something manly (unlike a few others lol) Could use a bull bar something bad though. Kinda looks naked without one. Other than that very, very nice :)
