Wavetrac's are better as you will always have drive to the wheel on the ground where as the trutrac will just single spin.
My trutrac used to always single spin on some driveways that caused it to lift a wheel. Was mint when driving tho.

Would they each be better for whats been done or other plans?
(am also asking this for potential ideas myself)

I guess it would depend on the purpose or what you intend to do with the car.
If you plan on leaving multiple lines then would one be better than the other?

Do have to say, the Factory LSD (although mines in a HSV) can put up with a bit.
But that's without wanting to sink the boot all the time.

Maybe if it's broken. That's not possible with a functional Torsen style diff. It goes against the physics they are bound to. Wavetracs are a pretty good alternative, cheaper but easier to break in high hp applications hence the popularity of Eaton

Funny thing is, my Eaton truetrac acts like an LSD as in when you jack up the rear of the car and turn one wheel the other wheel turns in the same direction just like an LSD diff would. The Harrop truetrac does not have the pre-load setup like the Eaton and acts more like the traditional open centre type truetrac.

    From Summit Racing -
This is the situation i had happen when entering steep driveways with short suspension travel. Can't remember from memory if i played around with the brake pedal or not.
And yes when it was jacked up both wheels turned the same way.

So I just measured the pre-load on my Eaton Truetrac centre. I'm getting about 65Nm to make the diff "slip". A good condition factory cone LSD they say should take 120Nm minimum to slip so it's about half of a good condition one. I might see if I can test the one wheel in the air theory on a steep driveway somewhere.
