Me diffs gone, Need a truetrac, but only thing That’s got me confused is that when the workshop guy quoted me originally for a truetrac $3.2k drive away, then a week later when u called too confirm if parts come in he asked me if my diff was banging and slipping, told him yes then he said ohh your going to need a different truetrac it’s 1k extra.

what I wanna know is how many truetrac diff centres are thier, from what I found it’s just the one, ain’t it?

I would hope that is the case, even though I would be much happier to be told that he couldn’t do it in the foreseeable future rather than provide a quote that someone may just say yes to.

Sounds steep BUT could be covid tax or not keen for your business.

Tried to get truetrac for 9" last year was massive back order so gave up on the idea & forgot about it.

True, but you don't quote someone $3.2k for Diff, and then up it another $1k,
One would think, does he know what he is actually quoting on.
To be honest, he should of come out and said that will cost you $4.2k straight out, till we have a look at it.

That's not the way to do business when you rely on honesty, that's the way to get a bad name.
Imagine you put your car in the have it fixed, that will cost you $3.2k sir
Go and collect it and they say, sorry sir, your repairs are now going to cost $4.2k.
One would have a heart attack on the spot.

I kinda figured that out when I called for a quote on the phone and he gave me the original quote, I gave him the go ahead and asked how much deposit he wants before ordering the part. He said don’t need one, this was beginning of December last year. Till Know my cars is useless, still waiting for his call saying my parts come in.

I’m from Sydney I can’t find any legit and trustworthy diff specialists
