I'm sure this has been covered before, but i can't get over the HUGE similarities between the torana concept of 2004, and the recently released VE!

Maybe we'll see a TT 3.6 litre alloytec shortly? :D!!

You will see the twin tubo Alloytec very soon, in a Buick and maybe in the new GNX but Holden hrmmmmmm they are a bit unco, I wouldn't but it past them to forget about it. They will probably re import the new GTO as the Monaro so there might not be much room left in the market for a Hatchback because who would buy an American made Monaro when you can have a Torana Hatch? no one :)

From reading all the articles to date we are unlikely to see the Torana take form soon, it's not a straight fit onto the VE platform and lots of work is required to make it happen for a production vehicle. Most likely it will appear further down the track possibly as a replacement for the Commodore should GM decide that it is no longer worthwhile producing a large RWD sedan. It has also been rumored that if they can get enough interest from the EU and US markets that it might be launched as a rival for a 3 series type small RWD sedan/hatch.

well there was some leaks back when the torana concept came out that it would be the new generation commodore and that the concept was a trial to see what the public would think and to also get feedback so that they could release something that ppl would like more

There wont be a turbo Alloytec, as Denny Mooney has already confirmed General Motors are Supercharging the alloytec and Holden will be using the supercharged engine in Commodores.

General Motors is looking at the development and if they dont go ahead with it or dont have the time, Holden will do the development itself, looking to make it into some commodores by 2008.

Oh my god! Where have you been living? The Torana was a market tester for the new VE Commodore.

Lock this thread, this has been done to death...
