Cadillac BLS Apparently the new Cadillac BLS is set to hit our shores sometime in 2006, and (in Australian-spec) if will have a 2.8-litre version of the Alloytec (with turbo). It will produce 186kW of power and 340Nm of torque. The BLS is front-wheel drive and aimed at the European and Asian markets, plus it's based on the Saab 9-3 architecture so it could easily become right-hand drive. So, to answer your question, there will be a turbo version of the Alloytec (and nothing to say we won't see a turbo in the Commodore... stay positive!)
Try contacting http://www.capa.com.au/main.htm These are the guys who have put a supercharged BA XR-8 motor in a Territory and also have a Supercharged SS Crewman developing huge horsepower. They are sure to have something for you.
Howd they fit the XR8 motor in the Territory? Apparently the only reason Ford doesn't make the Territory with the V8 is cause it wont fit...
From what I understand it was a lot of hard work to squeeze it in from underneath and there was some modification involved. It is the only Supercharged V8 Territory in existence and produces 400kw on 8psi boost. For an engine bay pic go to http://www.capa.com.au/pics/news_territory_04.jpg For a side on pic go to http://www.capa.com.au/pics/news_indy_1_big.jpg P.S. Their road registered Supercharged LS-1 Crewman produced a dyno proven 1022 hp at the REAR WHEELS!!!! It used 13.5lt/100 km driving Adelaiade to Canbera Summernats. For a Crewman side on pic go to http://www.capa.com.au/pics/news_crewman5.jpg For a Crewman engine bay pic go to http://www.capa.com.au/pics/news_crewman3.jpg All very neat, factory looking work.
That comes as no suprise, it hardly fits into the XR8!! They have to install them with plastic sheets surrounding the engine bay to prevent scratches as the thing squeezes in. At least they did, not sure if they still do. Hehe, morons.
Correct, on two counts, the XR8 engine can only fit in from underneath and yes the engine bay needs protection during the engine fitting process as the engine actually rubs on the way in!
Ahh good to know im not losing my mind... yet Ford never cease to amaze me with some of the totally moronic things they manage to screw up.
engine out to change the plugs? generally people aren't too fussy about taking your money. what happens after then is your problem :ranting:
Well it HAS been done. I was in Bathurst last week & saw the bonnet of a nice Impulse Blue SV6 up outside Supercheap Auto. I parked next to it (Same car lol) and when I got out I looked under the bonnet to see ..... Twin Turbo's! Speaking to the guy (Who I assumed was the owner), he had the turbo's added about 2 months ago after the car hit 30,000k's. They were done by some performance mob in Melbourne & the car had Vic plates. I did not have a camera (Or my phone) so no pics, sorry guys One thing was it DID look awesome.
Did you get the guy's name by any chance? Even better, did you let him know about this humble forum? :yeah: I'd be nice if he joined up so we could all drool over the pics of his car!!! :w00t: Speaking of SV6's, the old man is thinking about trading in his VY Calais for one bout halfway through this year, so i'm looking forward to that! Figured that Holden will be trying to push them out the door seeing that it'll be the end of the financial year! Heres to hoping! :drink: Andy
I read somewhere that the VE Commodore may look similar to this Cadillac (as featured on the Matrix Revolutions). If this is tru, I am sure Holden will make some changes to suit Australian tastes...
