I may be wrong, but most of the drone issues seem to be with the 6.0L rather than the LS3 ?

Not yet....... am leaning toward either the Walkinshaw stepped catback, or the DPE 2.5.

not wanting drone, but also looking at logistics of having system posted then fitted, or a walkinshaw supplier fitting as this is included in cost

Got lucky and found a brand new Walkinshaw catback with tips for $1300 (about half price for what a Walkinshaw dealer will charge)

can’t wait to put it on!

Will that match up to your extractors or do you need to modify it?

Post a vid when its done, I'm considering changing from my 3" Hurricane system to DPE/walkinshaw. I have a cam and the hurricane sounds good but I think my preference is the DPE.

I have a LS3 wagon.
It was the full DPE set up. Extractors all the way through.
It's the 3 inch stepped to 2.5 inch.

I don't hear drone on mine that's noticeable anyway.
It is a deep sound, and not loud on normal driving. Flog it and it's load yes, but all of them are.
If you can I would suggest taking a car with one on it for a drive. Then have the owner drive around with you maybe on the side of the road so you can hear what they sound like from that perspective also.
You tube clips don't do any exhaust sounds any justice to be honest
I personally like them and find it the best sounding one I have ever had. But I'm not into the loud raspy sounding ones, but everyone is different.

People have mentioned in earlier threads about the baffling coming loose and rattling. I have had this on two occasions now. Both fixed under warranty. They replaced the whole cat back section twice.
I was getting a rattle under soft load at about 1300 rpm.
As its the W pack, there was no issues with warranty not kicking in.

The second occasion the rattle returned, the shop actually had a full 3 inch one there and put it on my car as I was thinking about upgrading since a new one was needed anyway.
I found it a bit too loud and had some drone.

I had the Walkinshaw system fitted today....

I am not blown away at the sound, actually sound fairly similar to my manta. It is possibly a bit deeper, possibly some more note separation at certain rev ranges, however I feel like I have lost a lot of low end power, possibly due to less back pressure with the bigger cat pipes and front section (3 inch vs 2.5)

perhaps I need my tune touched up.

will wait 1000kms for the system to bed in to give full commentary, but I think it will be better than the manta
