Twin calipers on vr

hi i was just talking to my uncle about the upgrade to twin piston calipers and how much they cost and he told me that back in the days he put 2 calipers on his xd and said they work way better then what the twin pistons would. im just wondering if any one has heard of this being done on a newer car that has abs and if it would be possible.
im up for a lil trial and error project here just woundering what u's think
