Twin Monaro exhaust on a VT

Is it true if you want twim pipes comming out the back like the Monaro and the Utes you have to change your fuel tank to make room for the right hand side exhaust?

BTW this is for a VT sadan LS1

yea mate that is certainly true. monaros run the fuel tank in the boot. so they can run twin pipes. would look good on ur vt if u end up doing the conversion thought.

what you can do is run both pipes down the left, then one pipe to the right between the bumper and fuel tank.
theres a few people who do have them running the whole way down the RHS without modifications, i was going to do it this way untill the zorst shop put it on the hoist and showed me how little space there was, theres enough to put the pipe but it was only a few mm from touching the tank.

yea but that diversion will loose back pressure from all the kinks in the exhaust system and horsepower will be lost.

i looked into it can be done but its to close to the rear bar and fuel tank for my likeing

yeah its doable but as vh sl/x said you will loose horse power thats just crazy

Anyone know how much for a Monaro fuel tank and how difficult this project would be?
