Exactly. I had a front bar K&N pod set up on my old car, worked mint because of the hole in the bodykit that's part of the VP Senator front bar, but other than that, pod are pretty useless.

If you have them in the engine bay, they just suck in hot air. I see you have a VS Clubby, it would already have the cold air intake and high flow air box as factory, put a K&N panel filter in it. I did in my VS Senator, works really nice.

You get slightly better throttle reponse with a poddy, but i'd much prefer a OTR CAI with a K&N panel filter, feels alot beefier.

Then i filed the top lip back a little bit on my CAI snorkel to open it up a little more.

Even with a heatshield, to get any decent results out of it, you would still need a decent CAI set up of some sort to get cool air into the heatshield. That ****y little space near the headlight just doesn't cut it compared to the amount of heat it cops from the engine bay. Shield or not, it's still bloody hot in there.

this is how mines setup i have the cai scoop feeding the cool air to the pod and the pod has the shield around the back of heat to stop the heat gettin to it.
works great improved alot for me

Yeah see that's what i mean, that set up would work good for a pod filter. Or mount it in the front bar like i did. I needed to clean the pod with a K&N recharger kit every weekend though, copped a bit of road dirt on it.

its abit hard running a airbox in expecially if u have a dual throttle setup with not much room towards clutch fan thats wat im getting at i was thinking maybe a F pipe made up going straight to a flat panel in the air box but my mechanic said it will restrict air flow recommended pods

or i was thinking running sum 80mm aggie pipe clap it on the throttle bodies and run it behind the hsv bar the clap the pods on end of the pipe dat should be enuff air for em :D

i helped sum guy do a setup he had a vortex supercharger and what we did was extended da pod filter pipe that connects to da charger ran it down to be tucked behind da clubby kit put a twin filter adpater and chuked on 2 pods made a quite big difference

Ohhh, you are running twin throats? Hmmm, i have seen a few twin throat set ups using a high flow box, but they were air boxes suited to a twin throat set up. Like the one's on VN Group A's.

But maybe some kind of twin pod set up that can still suck "cooler than engine bay" air would work nice. With twin throats and twin K&N pods on a good set up would give you some nice tight throttle indeed i'd imagine.

yep the group a twin throttle are good cause the sit on the side but with my setup the throttles sit forward towards the clutch fan so theres not much room at all

how about running 1 throttle with a pod and the other in a air box with the stock air box having a k&n flat panel or am i better off extending the pipe down behind the clubby front bar and wack the pods down there would be make a difference though??

If your not running an intercooler with a turbo/super setup you need a cai, you adding that probably meant your car was probably runnin alot cooler as in normal.
How many times have you seen an engine bay pic that was super/turbo that didnt have an intercooler and didnt have cai? none?
