Im thinking with the current price of twin tbs of making my own. i would get rid of my old tb get either v8 tbs or some ported tbs, placing the other one on the opposite side to the orig one getting my local alloy wielders to do a tidy job and weild it on. Cutting the engine cover to suit, perhaps even getting a plastic weilder to weld another peice of plastic on the otherside. The questions i was hoping some of u guys could answer was, can u wire up 2 mafs and tp sensors or would it be easier to have the 2 pipes join an use 1 maf and use the original tps aswell only having 1 of each. Also would my car idle properly with only having 1 iac and blocking the hole on the other tb up?? Trying to make a champange car on beer money and im gunna do it!!!!! :yeah: so any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated. cheers lads.
the twin tb wont offer you allot or any gains on an NA V6. Have a read through the V6 development and development general discussion section of the forums, there is allot of good info about the limitations of a NA V6 and the cost involved in gaining power.
there have been a lot of mixed results with twin TB's on the V6. the seem to give some increase on stock engines but have been know to produce less power on stroked V6's. it's a bit odd. stock ecotec TB is 64mm. stock V8 Tb is 65mm. so it's not worth the bother with V8 tb's in oyur case. haven't seen done what your considering but would be extremly difficult because of the MAF. could get away with blocking the IAC on the 2nd TB but would still need to draw air through one MAF for both TB's. just use one TPS also. honestly, even the big $$$ COME twin TB manifold doesn't have a clear advantage over a ported stock manifold until high in the RPM band. there are some others looking at producing a completly new manifold. it may pay to wait and see how that come along.
