Well, its been a while since ive done anything. Been mucking around with the bikes of late.

Ive finally got around to booking the car in for a tune with Dick this Saturday. Only took 2 odd years lol.

Spent the last week fixing a few things up getting it ready.

Got a set of 60lb/hr Siemens Deka injectors ready to go and fitted a VT fuel rail and regulator.

    Hopefully all goes well...

Took the car to Dick on Saturday.

He hooked up all his gizmo's, removed the MAF, added a 3 bar MAP sensor, fed in a base tune for the 60lb injectors and fired it up. Took it for a short drive, drove well considering but still had a lot of tuning to go. I left the car with him.

He rang me yesterday arvo to let me know he's got it running very well at 14psi boost, today he'll be aiming for 16psi. He said the car is very nice to drive.

    Very close now. Cant wait.

Considering it was only running 10deg advance and 11psi with A/F all over the place, it went pretty well. He should be able to up the timing to around 20deg and 16psi boost... Its gonna be fun lol.

Not sure where you get 20degrees from but I'd be more prone to push the turbos. You should get an easy 20psi if the cam is right. Twin turbos mean lots of air flowing through the heads. You only need timing to make power if the cylinder head is inefficient which I'm tipping yours won't be lol. Dick will squezz power with good AFR and boost. Sometimes you may only tickle timing haha

    Hope it goes well!

True, but my problem is my head ports are stock and the turbos wont take more than 16psi, hence the timing.

I guess we know what the next step in the project will be when the need for more power kicks in :)

Got a message from Dick last night.

"Car is running very well. This morning 3 clicks from the boost bleed gave 15.8psi and later after some tuning one more click gave 18.3psi. Glad you went 3 bar map. Tune is safe and motor is happy. I have also left a fuel table for 30psi but its not tested but richer for safety."

Might go 30psi you reckon hahaha?

I told him to leave it at 18psi for me. I dare say its going to do some driveline damage lol, but the amount I drive it and the way I drive it, it should last a while.

Don't know. Its road tuned not dyno'd. ROad tuning is better for turbo's because you actuyally drive on the road and not on a dyno lol. Dyno's don't have the same load as the road, so the turbos will come on at differently.

I'll get a power run done shortly after the tune.

Just find out the maximum fuel injector duty cycle it's using, from that you can calculate roughly how much power it's making.

Basically yeah. Im estimating at 18psi it should be near the 380-400rwhp mark. Depends on how the turbo's hold up. They aren't the most efficient although GTR's are getting 400hp ATW with my turbo's.

Picked up the car on Friday. What a difference! It actually drives like a car now lol.

Only one concern now. Im sure I can hear knocking under load. I don't think knock sensors are picking it up.

Its not a huge amount of knock, just a few pings here and there.

I know theyre working because Dick said he got it to register knock on a few logs.

I cant feel the timing retarding at all when it knocks. From experience, the timing retard when knock happens is pretty savage.

Are there some frequencies the knock sensors aren't picking up or something?
