The VX Commodore has the CAI mounted bottom left of the Air box...
1. Will the MCAI fit with that there?
2. do you NEED to use an MCAI?
3. Does the MCAI have a lid? Or is it open topped?

Is it the same as you see in the 1st pic?
Im pretty sure the pic is bottom left also, so yes it will fit.
No it doesn't have a lid. It collects cold air via the grill and above the light were it use to.
Just put the Radiator shroud back on

Certainly made a difference to my Vy. I left the second hole tube loose with rubber gasket to allow easier install & removal.

Cut in the correct place, and to the right size, you can use the connection from the snorkel to funnel through the MCAI for the 2nd hole.

Ps; You can also mould the MCAI with a heat gun instead of having to cut it all up.

06 ADVENTRA V6
G'day guys,
I'm a newbie to the site so forgive me if I'm repeating a question already asked, this thread is VERY interesting for me seeing that I have a 06 Adventra and well, its bloody heavy on the fuel! Bam Bam 11 said he's got his VZ down from 12.8 to 10.2L per 100K's

has anyone else done this mod to an Adventra 190kw V6?? cause the milage on my wagon is crap! right now the computer says we are getting 14.7per 100k (fair enough, its doing the school run and stuff around the burbs) BUT out on the highway the best we can get is 12.1per 100

my wagon is 100% bog stock, I'm well and truly over the "hi-performance" stuff, just looking to improve fuel economy and if it gives a bit of extra Oomph at the same time then thats even better.

also, will the monaro cold air intake mentioned in the posts above fit the V6 adventra?
reason i ask is because what would fit a normal VZ sometimes wont fit the VZ adventa like "nudge bars" (apparently a nudge bar to suit a "normal" VZ wont fit an adventra)
