Hey guys,

I've got 20inch hsvi vf barettas on my SS, with powertrack cityracing tyres (225 35 20).

The tyres were put on brand new as part of the roadworthy back in April. I've done around 7000kms on the car since and yesterday the rear right blew.

Is that just the norm with shitty tyres? Or perhaps wrong size tyres on there?

Shoud be 245/35/20 but the question is why did the tyre blow ?

Puncture ?

Poor camber setting ?

Poor sidewall construction ?

First off, the load rating on that tyre would be wrong along with size....The person doing the roadworthy should have picked up on them being incorrect to begin with, along with if a tyre place fitted them to the car

Secondly....Did it have a puncture? Amazing the number of people say the tyre blew, when it had a puncture and was run flat

What part of the tyre "blew" Sidewall, tread?

So a few questions to answer

Bumped into a gutter.
Smashed into a pothole.
Tyres just don’t blow.

Cheap tyres are always a gamble...that is why they're cheap.

Luck of the draw basically particularly if it's a brand you don't know or rarely seen.

Cause is unknown at the moment. Got home from work night before, no issues. Drove to work next morning, 30 mins in tyre just started to deflate on the fwy. No kerbs hit or anything like that.

I've attached some (bad) photos.

Any recommendations for new tyres? I assume anything Pirelli or Michelin should be fine? And to confirm I should get 245 35 20s?

Yes, definitely a 245 35 20 is the tyre you need.
I would personally stick with a known brand tyre. Michelin is my choice.
