Go the bridgies. Mine have 48000km on them so far with probably another 10000km in them, and they aren't babied at all. I rotate them every 7500km when i service it. They grip well, are quiet and, for me at least, last.

I got 57,000 out of my OEM Bridgestones. One tyre was at the limit and the other three probably had from 1,000 to 5,000 left.

I replaced them all with Goodyear LS2, the OEM tyre for the Pontiac G8. Got four of them in Sydney fitted for $760. I have put about 6,000 Km on them now, and am at least as happy as with the OEM tyres.

They seem to have a slightly larger rolling diameter, as my odometer over-read by 1.7% new compared with 0.6% with the LS2.

at $290 per tyre in Melbourne. I am not aware of them being available in other locations.

I had the head mechanic come out with me for a drive and the first question he asked was if i rotated the tyres. The guys at a tyre shop i went to today said the same thing. Apparantly the wheel alignment specs from factory is very ordinary and they tend to chew out rear tires quickly however as my car was in an accident and repaired i trusted the wheel alignment which was done but it seemed to be way out and now i have two ####ed tyres!

my ss has scrubbed out the fronts, not the backs, replaced all four with federals last week

+1 on the RE050s, they were on special late last year for $349 each.

The RE050s seem to hang on better than the S221s.

Theyve got the Falken 452's for $289 each too... either would be good.

I cant understand getting 40,000 + k's out of a set! Best I have done was 26000 and they were the fronts!
