I'm doing extractors and all so a whole new system. but first of all, she's living down at serpentine this week in the brother's shed bunking with the Falcon, he's doing a few mechanical bits on it for me. I should have it back by the long weekend so I'm driving the VR full time. I miss driving the VR all the time, it's so much easier to drive than the WK. although I still have been keeping the VR super clean.

 

the steering in the VR is so much lighter than the WK, but not sloppy and it just doesn't feel as heavy. the pedals also take much less effort. I'm just a slack prick.

 

so a few bits have been done over the last few weeks. I've done:

service/engine wash (fuel, air and oil filters)
new NGK plugs and eagle performance leads
new rocker cover gaskets
new power steering hoses/power steering vacuum hose

excuse the dust, she's been sitting in the shed for 2 weeks.



aaand the Pièce de résistance...

pacemaker 4 into 1 extractors, high flow cats, twin 2 and a half inch manta exhaust with hotdogs. extractors are on, just need to get some oxygen sensor extension leads tomorrow and then we can finish it off. should be done in the next few days.

 

I've got her home now and the exhaust sounds great. I'll make a video over the weekend.

the engine as it is now, much cleaner.



and with the VR. the WK is going to be getting a full detail on saturday as she's dirty inside and out.

 

a quick video of how it sounds. not the loudest by any means, but I didn't want anything too loud. but it now sounds like a V8. I'm loving that burble.

twas a nice day so I took the WK for a drive, and took a few pics along the way.







but not before a wash. Oh my!

 

got some new headlights today. I was going to go for a aftermarket set but they looked too euroish for my liking so I got a set of genuine lamps from a wreck in much better knick than the ones on the car now. they where also much cheaper than the after market ones.



also took it for a drive because the weather was nice today, went to zigzags obviously.
