Hi all,

I'm in the market for some new struts/shocks for my VZ SS Sedan (lowered on Kings SSLs all round), as my current ones have had it, and after doing a bit of research I had decided on KYB struts/shocks. However, recently I have noticed Ultima stuff on eBay for quite a reasonable price, and with rego/insurance coming up, would probably suit my budget better. I was wondering whether anyone has had any experience with them, and how they compare to other brands out there, ie KYB, Monroe, Boge, in terms of ride, quality and comfort.

Thanks!

2015 Subaru Forester, XR6 turbo ute.
Do it properly the 1st time, not on price. IMHO, KYB all the way. But, its your choice.

not heard alot about ultima, one or two bad reports, if you want a reasonable shock for lower price go munroe, but boge, kyb, bilsteins are great, I have pedders sports ryders they suit what i wanted but there are alot better around as mentiond, do a google on ultima and read up, then you can decide,

Ultima are not as good. you typically get what you pay for... I personally consider KYB to be crap. Koni yellows or bilsteins are the only 2 worth considering.

I used Ultima lowered with Kind Spring Lows and 18" Wheels on my ford falcon.

Harsh ride, almost donated a kidney.

As mentioned above, do it right, do it first time.
KYB, Monroe known respected brands and not too heavy on the wallet

Hey guys, thanks for the responses!
Sounds like I should stick to the KYBs so I'll be ordering them sometime next week hopefully!
Would love some bilsteins or konis, but can't afford them.. Not yet anyway!

Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated
