Unexpected upgrade

Was just poking around the wreckers and came across a smashed up cluster, see pics as i found a cluster face laying around... nek minnet...hey i wonder if that would slot onto my executive cluster

So i walked around and smashed apart another executive cluster and yes! It fits

The wreckers charged me $4 for it lol

Took less than 15 minutes to put it in. See pics before and after

Thinking i might spray paint it black. Matt black would look too smokey. Gloss black would be too shiny?

If the current silver is OK, I'd leave it as it is.

I think if you sprayed it black, it would lose the 'ring' effect that you have just found.

The silver rings can be unclipped then i could spray the piece

Its plastic, so whats best paint recommended and id have to wet rub it yea?

I have sprayed two of the plastic VY/VZ top centre piece, above the air vents, with ordinary rattle can enamel. One is a very dark grey which gave a flat finish, the other gloss black which gave a sandpapery finish. Used very light coats with a lot of drying time, forget what it says on the can.
Before spraying, I just gave them a good detergent and water clean.
Or you could go to a hobby shop and get proper paint that is used on plastic car models.
