so a bloke from ultra tune is trna tell me that my breaks are unfixable they will squeak no matter what. even if he does put new pads or grinds them.
in his words " even if you get a full new break system they will still squeak"
now 2 me that sounds realllly sus.
i dont know much about cars just thort id ask but is this guy having me on?

there's different methods to combat this.
on my old R33 I used to have very squeaky brakes, I put some of that gunk on the back of the pads so that the pads didn't vibrate in the calipers.
Wasn't TOO bad after that... helped a bit, may be worth a shot.

I've also heard that if you bed them in when new incorrectly this can create the squeak/squeal also.

here is the secret

the part that squeals is the backing plate behind the rotor, grab it with your hand and push it back and forwards away from the rotor and you'll find that the squeal will disappear

over time dust and road grime collects there, when you apply the brakes it begins to vibrate causing it to squeal

just make sure the rotor is cool before attempting this

vs commodore
Ive found that using cheap brake pads can cause bad squealing. Some cheap brand pads are really bad.Ive also found that some machined discs can cause brake squeal. These days, brand new discs are so cheap, that you are much better off just buying new ones instead of machining them. Ive also found that fitting new discs give you way better brake pedal feel over machined discs.Cars that have machined brake discs fitted, always seem to have brakes that are just not quite as good as they could be..
