So now finally got confirmation about car accident last Tuesday.

Dual lane directional roads and I was on far left and guy going in same direction but guy in outer lane (right) decided to turn left in front of me and my lane of course I hit him. No chance to stop and went up a gutter to avoid

Today, other driver deemed at fault, my car heading in for repair Friday afternoon and hire car after work Monday with a Toyota Yaris

As for person responsible, chassis damage and so probably a write off and he had NO INSURANCE at all. Only green slip.

Around 4K worth damage on my car and he pays plus my excess

    Silly ****.

Dam, this is why you have insurance, you never know when you need it. If you did you'd do something different.
Hope it all end up good .
And that's the thing ,even though it doesn't look very structural, it'd still be pretty expensive to repair.

Inner wheel guard scraping over bumps
Think bearing hurt on drivers side
    Noises
    Alignment
    Headlight, think both
    Bumper
    Front quarter
Both wheels to be repaired or replaced.
    Foggy lights, left wire stripped
    Bonnet
    K-Frame
    Hubs
    Supports

    Basically front end

Bumper being held on with cable ties and wire to get me local shopping but public transport for work. Not safe above 80km/h.

Funny thing is, 2 days prior bought touch up spray paint as was gonna work on the bumper during some annual leave
So in essence, a bit of PUBIC transport and a Toyota Yaris and and fixed up front end and new bumper etc

This kid, P2 Plater with no insurance, no 3rd party and a bent chassis turns from outer lane into mine.
A whole lotta money is gonna be coming out of his pocket for a long time all because he and his Mrs wanted KFC fries.

Funny thing is I was gonna get a new bumper and headlights

Been told now they all have to be changed due to accident of course.

Even tyres due to damage to them

Wheels all checked and rebalanced also

In a way a free upgrade
Still annoying but will be checking everything

Annoying, and while some of the damage is responsibly serious , not enough to write it off or write it off economically , it is getting repaired and because someone elses fault they pay so hopefully all's good, but yeah still bloody annoying.

    So hire car, Mitsubishi ASX

Understeer, body roll, lack of acceleration.
Almost like it's not a sports car

    Meh

Have it for 10 days for now
So we'll see how it stacks up

Sorry that you were involved in an accident, it always sucks to see good looking cars damaged :(

Of all hire cars they could have given you, they gave you the absolute worst.

Hahahahahahaha honestly dont like it too much
    Does the job

$7k but after looking around, these car prices are steady and rising for good examples.
Next insurance period, prob Shannons or LSV again

At the repair shop now so must be good and hire car

    Car is a total loss
Too much damage, suspension stuffed both sides

Heading over today to get personal items and things not listed.

    Has come to an end

Will be selling off things like Cat Converters new 100cell metal core, and ceramic coated HM Header Tri-Ys and other odds and ends.

Keep car, find another body & re-shell? A lot of work.
    Or time to move on?

    No room for a reshell.
    No tools, engine lifts etc
Costs involved to do that etc
