It looks like a piggy back slide spade terminal,
Bonnet latch switch ?
Air Temp Sender ?
Receiver Dryer connector ?
Additional Fan for the condenser ?

May need to get a wiring diagram and look for the colour code of the cables.

For the case of the exercise, wrap some insulating tape around it so it doesn't short out to ground/body.

My guess is for alarm system or idot light if they have it.

See that black bracket in middle next to wear bonnet catch is probably has little plastic button/spring combo like in door jambs.

Yes that black bracket is missing its
switch. Probably part of bonnet alarm.
Get a new sw. from Jaycar if you need to reinstate the alarm.

It looks like the bonnet switch.
Unscrew the bonnet switch next to that circle part and see if there’s any wiring attached to it. Otherwise, that’s where it belongs.

Thanks for sorting that out, I'll investigate it further after I get my ute back from paint shop.

That sub loom goes inside the upper radiator support beam. that bracket is missing the button.
