hi, i locked my keys in the car last night and thought i would try a small screwdriver to open it, well it worked way too easy, then tried my house key and that opened it too, can i buy new door locks somewhere that are better than the stock vl locks?

well i was going to buy some solex locks but my mechanic said dont bother because they just have to hit the lock a different way to open it so im buying remote central locking and disconnecting the barrels from it so its only remote

it seems the doorlocks and ign lock wear away or corrode over time so almost any key will open them
new locks are an option, remember that VL locks are just for the VL

my VL key has unlocked and started 2 other VLs that I tried it on

new locks are the best option, its only because of the barrel being warn down over time
apparently a potato can be mashed into solex locks too turn them but who knows

new locks and a alarm is the best option

alarm is the go
when i was doing recovery for racq they gave us a "lock out kit" and i have to say, locks are no deterrant whatsoever if you have the proper tools.

I'm not going to go into detail on a public forum about how to open a locked commodore, but it only takes about 10 seconds to get in with the right gear.

alarm, immobiliser and a whole lotta luck are your best chances

some say solex locks have no dust covers and eventually clog up with dirt??
