Hey guys, Newbie here so don't rage or anything. First of all I'm only a young guy (19 years young) who knows nothing about cars. I drive a 2007 VE Lumina and the rear driver's side speaker has fizzed out. After checking boneart's guide, I have all I need in order to do the actual replacing. (http://forums.justcommodores.com.au...6/159709-upgrading-ve-stock-speakers-how.html) I just have no idea what speakers to buy. I really want a pair that I can just 'unplug the old one and plug the new pair in', kind of thing, without any ACTUAL modifications. But I know nothing about power ratings and such, (Apprentice Electrician...I think I may be in the wrong industry. ) Thoughts?
6.5" Splits will fit in the front doors no problem but you will have to cut the plugs of the end of the speaker wires and solder the terminals of the speaker to the wires. Sound insulation should be used to avoid door rattle. I have a ute so i dont know about the sizing for rear door speakers. Does your lumina have a centre speaker?
No worries. If your getting splits for the front make sure you don't put the crossovers in the footwells because I did that at first and I had horrible engine noise.
