Upgrading VE SSV radio to digital

anyone know if its possible to upgrade the standard VE SSV stereo to digital?

I imagine you could buy a DAB receiver and connect it to the AUX input. There's no way to actually upgrade the circuitry inside the headunit to support it though.

Mate, it doesn't look like you can even remove the stereo in a VE.

Every car audio installer (about a dozen) i've spoken to say "if you want new speakers I can help you. If you want rid of that Blaupunkt atrocity, you're out of luck" or words to that effect. I am still trying to prove them wrong!

Connecting a DAB to AUX would be about as stupid an arrangement as say plugging an ipod in it.
