mates got a calais VT and we pulled the dash out and he has the climate control one his lcd for his climate control dosnt light up so we got 5mm white leds! how do u change the screen in the climate control ???? urgent we got it all out
nevermind guyz !! done it theres a led either side of it we done all teh leds right, they are the right polarity resistirs are ok and teh leds are getting power with lights on but they dont light up the 2 lcd ones do when u turn key to ON but the ones that light all the buttons up dont turn on at all even tho the multimeter shows they are getting power me mate showed me with 1 of em the track lefted off the pcb like the semi circle track for each led hole one lifted a ittle did thi cause it
shouldnt do sounds like u just may have a LED round the wrong way mayb??? i found it easier 2 use a car battery n hook it up at the back where the pins r that will tell u if u have them round the right way or not. wen u used the multimeter 2 check the LEDs did u test them on the pins or on the circuit board itself??
We tested the actual contacts on the Board itself, & im sure we touched the actual resistor/ led pins too... theres power on the light/board, but when the car ignition is on? the only 2 lcd lights light up showing the cars temp etc..yet the couple of button lights beneath the lcd screen arent workin? very strange.
yer it will work if u touch the pins on the LEDs but i mean the pins in the plug where ur harness fits in coz u can have the LEDs around the wrong way and touch the pins on the LEDs and they will work if they r all round the wrong way but if u try it on the back pins u'll get the true current flow (-/+).
