with the outer door handle feeling loose and the lock not moving all the way up manually
but remote moves the rod upwards on unlock
i would think the lock is stuck in secondary (deadlock) position

put key into door lock and bang hard on the edge of the door where the latch is
while forcefully turning key to unlock try also to pull the rod up to fully unlocked while doing it
i think it has to be all the way down to allow the dead lock to undo, has a catch on it
so lock it on the snib or with remote
but make sure its all the way down
then try to un deadlock the door with key
Ah ok, thanks for your advice, much appreciated. i'll give this a go in the morning and update the progress as I'm not at home at the moment so I dont have any light outside and it makes things quite difficult :)

okay then
basically deadlocking disables the handles as the arm on the lock stops them from connecting with the lever

my guess is that your window was down you doublelocked and some one cam along and yanked the door snib up
and now it all out of sequence
try above if this fails you need to manually unlatch the lock
pull top seal off outside of window and find the right lever to disable the lock....
racq call take them maybe half hour will be far LESS damaged that wayi know there a fing bastard
cause you have to hold one and undo another OR get through door card and break the latch

AAAAARGH!!!!! Well, I finally got the door open, went to test it and yep, you guessed it , deadlocked again. After a while i managed to open it again and took a look at the lock, after applying only a small amount of pressure to it it locked again. So it would appear that every time it hits the metal clip it locks. What do i do now :S

P.S now the door is open and deadlocked :/

i would either get new or second hand lock and replace it

the door card off
take plastic off
undo electric plug on bottom of lock
undo rods from handles and door snib (take off lock assembely)
unbolt it from rear of door where the latch is
pull it out
reverse :)

if every time you roll the latch over (with a screwdriver) it deadlocks
then i would suspect the spring for the dead lock arm is broken inside the lock i would replace it
leave door card off and check it opens close locks unlocks inside and outside handles work
and of course if the new one dead locks

good luck man!~
