6 Cleveland cops fired over 2012 chase, 137-shot barrage

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland Police Department announced Tuesday that six of its officers involved in the 137-shot barrage that killed an unarmed pair after a car chase have been fired.

The chase began when officers standing outside police headquarters mistook the sound of a beat-up Chevrolet Malibu backfiring as a gunshot.

Apparently was a mistake, people got killed and should be processed according to the law.

However, here is the Media hate-warmongering, agitating the masses.

Russell was hit by 24 shots, Williams by 23. Brelo is white; Russell and Williams were black. His acquittal sparked protests against police violence in Cleveland.

Five white Cleveland police supervisors accused of failing to stop the chase have been charged with misdemeanors in the predominantly black suburb where the shooting occurred, and are still awaiting trial.

Additionally, another six officers face suspensions ranging from 21 to 30 day and a 13th officer involved in the incident will be retired early.

The shooting preceded a months long U.S. Department of Justice investigation that concluded Cleveland police engaged in a pattern and practice of using excessive force and violating people's civil rights. The city negotiated an agreement to make changes overseen by an independent monitor.

See how they slipped this one?

Does it matter what race they were? By just reading the names, you will never know unless you research a bit on it. They never stick to the facts.

The piece is designed to agitate the crowd and people wonder why we have such divisions in the States. Simple, the media keep poking and picking the scab. We get bombarded with crap like this all the time. On top of that, a little bit of Embedded Marketing for GM.

They like to keep themselves in the job.
Beat up a story so they can go on to cover the aftermath, Rinse and repeat.

How many bullets does it take to kill a person?

127 shots fired is obscene. One person hit by 24, the other by 23. It doesn't matter whether the "victims" were black or white. The cops went waaaayyyy overboard. They deserved the sack and probably a lot more besides.

No wonder African Americans harbour the resentment they do towards police in some quarters of the States.

Media reporting, whether biased or not, can't cover up excessive use of firearms or heavy handed "law enforcement".

Media is pretty much **** the world over. The bigger issue in this is as Calaber pointed out - the massively excessive use of force.

".

Whilst I agree that 127 shots fired is obscene, you as someone who was in law enforcement will know that when you draw your gun, youre instructed that you must be prepared to kill. You must not shoot to maim or injure. When a shooting happens in this country, a lot of people say "Why didnt you just shoot once" "Why did all 4 officers need to fire".

When several shots, from several officers are fired, this indicates that the situation warranted such action and is much easier to defend to whoever they report to following a shooting.

The Media in the US, love to drum up this sort of fear. This fear, as highlighted by the racial implications, drives the public to hate the police and the police to become more fearful whilst on general duties. Youve got police on a hair trigger over there. The public torn. Its going to erupt.

The US gun issue is never going to be solved when their media is so dependent on fear and violence.

The occupants were collateral damage, they were trying to kill a beat up Chevy that was "shooting" at them; yes took that many rounds to kill a Malibu. Mmmm... I wonder what colour was the Chevy? Looking at the photo, looks either Brown or Black. Sorry guys, could not resist some "Dark Humour"...

As pointed before, an old story from 2012, stirring the pot one more time. This is the kind of **** that pisses me off. Talk about segregation crap and here they are fomenting it by instigating. One of the biggest problem that we face and seen pretty much around the world to an extend, is the constant reminder of the negative things from the past. Will use the States since is so dam obvious... Certain ethnics groups are allows to segregate themselves. There is a cable tele station called BET; not sure if you guys ever heard about it. Stands for Black Entertainment Television. In my opinion, if that is allowed, it should be other types of "colour tele". If ever happen, you will see the wrath of God coming upon them. Instead of leaving the slavery to the history books, lesson learned to not ever happen again and move on as just plain and simple humans, we get those Ethnic History reminder days. Other ways are movies based on the "Poor Me syndrome" To me, is an indirect form of segregation and keeping the hate alive with the constant reminder.

Oh, one more thing. At the end of the news piece, roll the Anti-Depressant and Woody Pill Ads.

We have a station on pay TV here called NITV (National Indigenous Television). Shows predominately aboriginal content.

The more controversial or violent the story, the more people read/watch it, the more papers are sold and more people tune in to certain stations. What does this achieve? More advertising revenue. Media is about advertising and the mighty dollar, racial tension is the result and unfortunately the people that die are collateral damage.

The rich get richer and the black get dead.

From a police standpoint. If all 4 fired, its good job. Because that means that all 4 officers deemend the situation dangerous enough to shoot.

If only one shoots, more questions get raised.

yes and no.
you dont want more questions asked, so if your mate shoots and you cant see a good reason to hold fire, you shoot too.
