Hey guys, just wondering if it is safe to have the thinner 7/16 (11mm) thick wheel studs fitted on a VE Commodore Omega in-place of the standard thicker 14mm x 1.5 studs? Could the thinner studs snap / break if fitted on a VE Commodore?

Not safe, and illegal.

.. no way that! VE wheels match the (larger) stud size

plus how the heck do you get them to stay in the VE hub? (which has a 14mm hole)

Weld them in place :D....

Seriously, why would the OP want to replace them with a thinner stud anyway?

Hey all, thanks for your responses. So here's the thing... I actually am thinking about purchasing the attached (see photo) Wheel Spacer on eBay. I would only be installing it when I take the car to the Drag strip. And I am only looking at fitting these on the front of the car (2 x front wheels). The specs look all suitable and it states "For Holden Commodore". See also the link on eBay: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2PCS-25...en-Commodore-5x120-7-16-CB-77mm/333236554753? And yet, the only strange part is that the pressed in Wheel Studs on it are the 7/16 (11mm) size / thickness studs?? So these Spacers would bolt on the hub with the M14 x 1.5 studs that is already on the Commodore VE hub (which is all good) but then the wheel will be sitting on / tightened too the 7/16 studs. What do you guys reckon? Okay or no good? Cheers.

Bit dodgy but better on the front than the back. What is the point of it though is there a weight saving using smaller wheels?
I'm sure there are better ways to make your car go faster.

Thanks Lex, I have confirmed with the eBay seller and apparently the 'thickness' / bolt diameter of the pressed in wheel studs on this Wheel Spacer are 7/16 size (not only the thread pitch, which is also 7/16). This being the case, coming back to my previous post, what are your thoughts if fitting these only on the front of my VE Commodore?
