using nail polish to paint steering wheel inserts

thinking of using nail polish to paint steering wheel inserts got a close match not sure if its worth doing if it wont last though anyone used nail polish on plastic before any good?

Those steering wheel spoke covers are too large to hand paint with lacquer. It dries too quickly and getting a smooth finish, particularly with a small brush, would be virtually impossible. They really need to be sprayed with the correct shade of satin aluminium. I painted a set with an acrylic silver once and it tended to blacken and wear through with constant use.

Ok might night the bullet and buy a set not cheap though

Why not just go to your local paint store and get a rattle can of the right silver or whatever colour you want.

That will last better and not look like a hookers fingernails.

Trying to do it cheap $70 for brand new inserts anything over $30 may aswel get new inserts
