This is just a quick guide on how i used vy ss tail lights on my vz calias rear bar,
Please dont be to harsh if you dont think this is a good solution, But im happy with the solution and if anyone else here wants to give it a try why not!

I bought a vz calais rear bar only to find out the rear lights are a different size, as pictured.

I didnt like any of the Calais lights from vy/vz and the ones i did like where $600, So i Started thinking of ideas to somehow use these lights on my vz calais rear bar.

The reason why i had these lights was because i had a vy acclaim rear bar on the car, i wanted to replace this bar since it was a slightly different colour and was in rough condition as pictured.

So i cut out the section underneath the rear lights, Note: You will need to use a bar of the same colour for it to look proper, mines slightly off.

Using a measuring tape and some patience i masked off the section needed, And hand cut leaving 4cm of extra material to work with.
Then i took it to the table top sander, and slowly sanded it down. Because the top of them have cut-outs for the lights, it makes it really easy to slip in before you put the light in.
I could of and should of sanded mine with a little more patience and effort. But it was my first time ever using a sander so yea.
They came out looking like this.

As you can see i didnt do the sanding that well, im currently trying to figure out a way to make the line less noticeable but im happy with it at the moment.
Thanks for reading.

I think don’t hide the line. The panel you’ve made matches the one on the c-pillar. Looks great. Like it was supposed to be there.

thats really cool. so much work gone into it you must love the vy lights so bad

youre actually onto something cooler there too... the newer ford falcons have a chrome strip under their tail lights that look great, youre strips could be chromed up somehow, not that im say the alpine is bad just saying youve opened up that opportunity to get the chrome in.

great work

You're only on P plates and already letting women decide what you can and can't do with your own car.

I do not envy you champ haha.
