Can anyone remove their VU-VZ cam lock from the hardlid and measure the length of it for me?

Installing a hardlid on the Crewman. Have been fixing it up slowly in my spare time.

I have just recarpeted it. New seals.
Was fitting up the hardware this morning and the cam locks I bought are too short.
Thanks eBay. “Genuine” Not genuine Holden ones!

So where to turn next?
Holden? (It’s a genuine lid)
Aftermarket ute lid places?

I chucked the old one (which had no key)

Looks like it needs to be 30-35mm from the underside of the top part.
eBay one is 25mm.

I've got a genuine lid with Ebay locks ……... Hi Class Composites 03 9738 2822 (if they are still around ).
From the underside felt to the locking lever is 25mm, that does not include the locknut thread. The D shaped side plate is 25mm wide and can be adjusted up and down.
I have a box with the remains of the genuine locks, but it is 'somewhere'.

This is how the locks I bought sit.

No good. Too short.

25mm above the felt would be spot on.

The condition of the lid was a bit how ya goin. Replaced the felt with nice black felt. Seals from Clark Blubber.

New struts.

Cleaned up the brackets. Painted with wheel silver.

Added some tie downs to the mounts.

Painted it black inside so I can take the lid onto the next Crewman no matter what colour it is.

Melted the holes for the bolts with the soldering iron.

Found the holes for the ID plate with a fine pick. Re-riveted it.

From memory , my locks came complete with cam striker plates and U-shaped mounting plate. The new mounting plate was not as deep as the original.
Your photo shows your plate to be deeper than mine, and has another bit joined to it.
Could be an entirely different set up. Mine looked like this...… the different style striker plates, but it does not show the mounting plate.

The bit attached is a tie down I have fitted.
The measure you gave matches what the lock it came with was like.
(if only I hadn't chucked them)

My thoughts are that you key lock is OK, but your mounting plate that you attached a tie down is too deep.
Mine are 2mm thick with stepdown of 4mm. Try fitting with a flat piece of metal.

Had a look for my box of bits. No can find, it will turn up one day when I'm looking for something else. The lid was second hand, with all the assorted fittings separate except for keys.
A piece of high density foam each side of the tailgate, and the tub area is nearly water and dust proof, easily removed if I have to carry a bulky load.
