I assume you are not getting any error codes logged? One thing you could try, is running a separate cable from the TPS to the PCM to rule out any wiring problems.
Nope no codes. TPS rarely throws a code unless it completely fails I have found. Good news is I made it all the way back with perfect shifting, even going into fourth now.
I haven't bought a new one yet as i want to ring around and see if I can get one cheaper than Rip Every Poor C..... Off. Plus it seems the ones at Repco don't last anyway.

I'd use a CRC Contact Cleaner opposed to brake cleaner as the contact cleaner leaves a lubricant behind which enhances electrical continuity opposed to brake cleaner that leaves everything totally dry and thus not much electrical continuity at all which is probably where your problem lies.
Would Repco contact cleaner be the same? CRC gear at Repco is $44 as apposed to around 8 bucks this weekend for the store brand.

Shouldn't be too much difference as it's aimed at the same sort of issues

Might jump online and order a can then, while it's 30% off.

I thought you were going to buy some inox and keep that on hand for those electrical gremlins that crop from time to time?

If not, perhaps get some of that whilst you are shopping
