given the positioning of the wiring it unlikely a wiring problem, check the fuse , second row 3rd from front a 20amp in left kick panel first. a faulty device or excess current draw could be a cause, use another device or test light for socket operation.

BUT.....I would suggest using a trim removal tool rather than a screwdriver to avoid damaging any plastics.
