Hi all.
Cars being doing fine (FWIW).
However, sometimes the transmission is screwed up, either only goes as high as 2nd or 3rd gear and the gear change over isn't exactly smooth and dumps some error codes.
But, if I pull over, shutdown and restart. It can right itself. Transmission fluid looks ok (a bit over the ##HOT## zone - but I didn't change it last time).
Here are the codes.

Code 16 - Coolant temperature Sensor voltage unstable
Code 22 - Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) low voltage
Code 24 - Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)
Code 69 - TCC Stuck ON - Auto Transmission Only - Auto Transmission Only

Forget 16 - (unless you think it's related?!) The temp gauge in the dash doesn't appear to work, in the past I have to tap the dash as the gauge pointer gets stuck so I'm not surprised here.

Code 22 - I already replaced that a while ago. What are the chances of a new one being faulty? Also when checking the wires around the TPS, the idle changes like you would get checking for air leaks. Never experienced this before. Fiddling with the wires consistently effects the idle. So maybe it is screwed? I did remove/replace the TB a while ago, so maybe I messed up a wire. But for what I can see, everything looks ok.

24 and 69 are all new.

Any ideas or tips are appreciated.

Thanks.

Well I found the old TPS in a bin in the garage - will put it back on when I can be stuff - real pain getting to it. I find 69 concerning though. Can anyone tell me if a faulty TPS can trigger 24 and 69?
Thanks.

If code 24 is set, according to the VS Service Manual the trans will have maximum line pressure and second gear only. That could possibly cause the code 69.

When you changed the TPS, did you retain the drive adapter? Refer to the instructions below:

From my own problem faulty TPS can cause many problems.
Read this after I put new TPS in all good

http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/vr-vs-holden-commodore-1993-1997/225722-vs-tranny-error.html

Thanks I'll have a read.

Yes I made sure the little white square block was inplace. Thing is after the new TPS, things where going fine for a while. Slowly things have gotten worse and after driving it today. It now appears permanent.
Stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear.
As it was an after market TPS - I'm going to replace with the old one.

Thanks for the input - Much appreciated.
