V6 Engine Numbers?

    Does anyone know what the first 3.8 engine number is?

    I'm guessing that it will be VH1000000.

    The lowest number I have found so far is VH1001482. Sep 88

    Sounds a fair theory, so if you take 1482 off the VIN on that car you should be realy close to the first VN right?, plus 100 or so cars for the V8's

    V8 were released after the v6 dont know when thou.

    And yes getting close to the first VN S/N...

    It started at VH1001001.
    why the one? well who knows?

    Thanks for the info. It is odd to start with VH1001001

    Well the 48-215 engine numbers started at 1001 so i see the connection.
