V6 engines with a timing chain

Goes anyone know which year the V6 Commodores starting using a timing chain.

Not a V6. But yeah, timing belt in those things.

VZ and early VEs (alloytec engine) had a problem with the timing chains stretching.

Okay then and why I'm asking is I'd like another Commodore and a latter model than the VX I had.
Looks like a 2010 or latter is the way to go.

All manufacturers engines with timing belts and chains require something done to them at some point.

Most are a Shinto load more complicated and expensive to repair than the Alloytec.

If ya change the oil regularly ya shouldn’t have too much drama.
