Hi guys, i just have a quick question. I went and had a look at a set of 2nd hand extractors. They were still on the car and the guy said that they were pacemakers 2.5 inch. When it says there 2.5 inch does it mean that its the diameter of each pipe? or the diameter of the pipe when they all join up?Cause they didn't look 2.5 inch to me more like 2 inch maybe a bit less. He only wanted $100 is that good?

    Cheers!

When they say 2.5" they usually mean the collectors end at a 2.5" flange opening, the headers themselves are usually between 1 5/8ths and 2"

    gday guys

runnin a vy v6 ecotec ute, standerd setup up with a 2.5inch xhaust. Just wondering if a v6 supercharged exhaust system is a straight bolt on, considering they are basicly the same engine (are they?) Changing will that plus adding a 2.5 inch system on that change much from the standerd system. Not much for power, but im up for sound.

My standered system starts to drop after 2grand, all engine noise after 3 :( Any other ways to get good sounds over the whole rev range??

    go the mighty V6 :D

Not too bad a sound there HARVZ-6, bit different?! would you reccommend changing the rear like you have, or having a try at the fronts??
From that, I might just try the rear, straight through, like you have it.. looks cheap enough to try!!

i dont think the fronts do much to be honest... lol

its not much quieter than no exhaust

if i had paid for the pipe it woulda cost a bit.. stainless steel 3" is pricey :p

hmmm, is the original 'SS' exhaust full stainless? I welded mine with the normal mig?? didnt think you could do it with stainless? maybe low grade stuff??

Might just get some mild steel, see if it sounds like a keeper, do the rear section like you have, (you rekon go the 3inch? or just 2.5, i want it a bit noisier, so might go with the 3inch?!) then organise some monaro tips... mmmm!

3" is overkill for a N/A V6. Would drone like mad.

yeah, so ive heard, so twin 3 inch could be a little excessive?? lol... (from the diff back..)

Not really looking for power gains out of it, just a nice note, with MINIMAL drone!
Didnt sound too bad in the exhaust clip, but hard to tell how droney it would be while driving on the freeway, at a constant RPM,

This may depend on your transmission, if you have a manual box, the clutch cable may foul on one of the headers. If auto transmission, dont see why it wouldnt just bolt on.
