    Not entirely correct. You'd still have similar issues if your time continuum transponder was faulty. Check that first.

    It could be a leaking fuel presssure regulator. This can make the car hard to start. Fuel runs through the broken regulator vacuum line into the inlet manifold, flooding the engine.. Leaking fuel injectors can cause a similar thing..
