Is there anything else the engine might need to strengthen it up at all ?, Or will it be fine with cam and RR running.
Thanks again for your time.

depending on the zize of the cam you go, youll need a higher stally to bring ur car up into its powerband so it isnt a pig off the line.

then things like leads, CAI, and a decent service, and youll have urself a decent amount of poke for a v6.

next step is diff gears, they wont change your power output, but will increase your accelleration with the loss of a bit of top end. (but when does a v6 have this anyway ;)).

They use a material for the Spacers which is a thermal Composite.

Plastics - at least the common ones, Have operating temperatures that are too low for Engine bay use. Reinforced plastics (FRP's etc) are much more expensive, and still may have heat aging problems.

this gear is ideal for the purpose, and has been used as carb spacers since adam modded his daddies T bucket back when it have 200 ox power.

It's immune to most solvents, has enormous mechanical strength, and its continuous operating temperature is 130 degrees, with peak (short term) temp ability at 155 deg celsius. It can be well finished with standard machining tools and is readily available. It's also incredibley useful as a thermal and electrical insulator.

Teflon and specialist plastics all have down sides, be it cost, mechanical ability or machinability. Carbon based composites conduct too much heat. Trust the stuff - it ticks all the boxes.

Can you tell I worked in plastics and Insulating materials ?

Sounds very good:driving:.

I like the hydratrac 3.46 should have got it when it was $400:hit::bop:. That is true, It's all about 0-120 with a V6 the rest isn't as exciting:p. But that is most of the days driving 0-120.

I have no problem with people using YT rockers either its just we have (as noticed) a good working relationship with MACE and the product works perfectly.

With your plennum insulators, you have quoted 10% increase in power for the 12mm one and 13% for the 25mm one. 25mm is 2 times (approx) thicker than the 12mm one but with only 3% increase in power (over a broader range). I don't know much about runner lenghts but would i be right in thinking that 25mm is about the optimal thickness for optimal power gains and any longer power figures would start to go backwards? Just thinking about some cars with Tunnel rams.

Good question Col :)

Practically speaking I would say your right. However I would still like to go 50mm if I could one day :D

Forsure i will be adding them at some stage, Only i don't want to go exhaust and all first, Much rather try it from inside out:D.

I have always had the figure in my head 200:D. If i go RR and Cam i will go headers and system. Is there anything else the engine might need to strengthen it up at all ?, Or will it be fine with cam and RR running.
Thanks again for your time.

For your requirements you won't need to strengthen anything :)

I had no idea that you ever worked in plastics Andrew :p

No probs Tim. As always I'm sure they'll be happy with them. Can't wait for your charger kit to arrive :w00t:

Thanks for the kind words vxcalais_01,

Certainly easy to work with Tim as we've done so for many years  and certainly don't have a problem recommending his products to anyone, so much so that we distribute them ourselves Vic, which is why you'll see our ads with their chargers on them ;)

Yeah, thats what i was thinking. The plennum would look pretty cool sitting 50mm above the intake. Any chance of you guys sandwiching 2 x 25mm insulators together on an ecotec and running it on a dyno?
