That TTV6 in the VXR or something would be delightful... reckon the reason they didn't go with that engine is because Opel didn't want to fund the development of an engine that they would never use. Oh well.

What’s to develop? It’s there. It’s done. Shitty FWD transverse gearboxes would be why.

If they went with an actual worthy replacement like the CTS, then it would just come down to GM being absolute King Cnuts when it came to the anywhere but US market.

Fk you GM. We want our money back.

It's mainly a space issue. The chassis was designed for a traverse 2.0L 4 cylinder engine and they only just managed to squeeze in an atmo V6 to please Buick and Holden's request for a larger engine for their respective markets. There is no additional room in the engine bay for a turbo or supercharger and all the extra bits you'd need (plumbing, intercooler, oil cooler, transmission cooler etc...). A custom fuel map, gearbox CPU flash, and aftermarket exhaust are the only realistic options, assuming someone has actually developed them.

Dodge decided it wasn't viable to bring the Charger here, that might have been a Falcodore replacement. That was cheaper than a Caddy (although the top shelf Hellcat engine would be more)

Even Elon Musk says that GM will go back into bankrupcy in 2023. They won't have any money.
