gday fellas i have a vs v6. over the last 2 weeks it has had an intermittent starting problem. (will crank over but not fire). Now im at the stage where i can only start by leaving the ignition on for an hour or so to disengage the immobilizer then it will start, run rough and as you select a gear it stalls again. I know the button is buggered but after overriding the immobilizer it should in theory run ok (not rough or stall). No other nasty fuel smells or noisy pumps. Driving down the hwy the other night the car seemed to hesitate like stall but come back to life. Like i said the button is shagged and i cant get it to operate the central locking anymore. I was thinking the cas or air flow meter. Any ideas?

You'll have to get the key bit fixed first as I reckon I'd get pretty sick of having to wait 1 hour to start my car! Other than Bretts advice, I'd check each and every vacuum hose under the bonnet especially the ones to the throttle body. Other things are the fuel pump relay, fuel pump itself, coils, dfi module etc. Has any work been done on the engine lately?...if so something may not have been put back correctly. Check battery cables as well.
    Good Luck.
